Who
Named after a resilient, three-time breast cancer survivor, the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center guides individuals with any cancer diagnosis, regardless of where they are receiving their medical care, from the point of diagnosis into survivorship. Fully funded by philanthropic individuals, corporations and foundation, all non-medical programming provided by the center is provided free to all individuals and their loved ones. Since the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center opened twelve years ago, over 12,000 people have received non-medical support services through the center.
What
Beyond the Bag is the annual fundraising event, hosted by the Baylor Scott & White All Saints Health Foundation, to raise funds for the critical non-medical cancer support services provided by the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center. The celebratory evening is filled with dinner, live entertainment, and high caliber auction items, in both the silent and live auctions. Over the past twelve years, Beyond the Bag has raised a total of $3.25 million to ensure that no one has to face cancer alone!

Why
Proceeds from Beyond the Bag will directly support navigation services at the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center. The number of patients turning to the Center for guidance continues to increase. Last year alone, over new 1,500 patients were seen at the Center. Your support of Beyond the Bag through an event sponsorship, raffle ticket purchase, monetary donation, or an auction item donation will directly help individuals in our community from diagnosis through survivorship.
